Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is the primary worship choir of our church, singing each Sunday, using music as a medium to lead worshippers in praise to God. Current choir repertoire includes music of master composers, hymn arrangements and modern scriptural settings in music. Several times each year the choir also performs larger programs or works at Christmas, Easter, or special events such as the Westminster Vespers. The Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9pm. Beginning in August 2008, the choir will also have a Sunday School Class/Choir Rehearsal on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30am for interested singers who, for reasons of scheduling, cannot make Wednesday evening rehearsals. All rehearsals meet in the choir room which is downstairs across from the nursery area. There is always a continual need for new singers in the Chancel Choir as singers “retire”, move from the area, or have schedule changes and can no longer participate. Choir candidates should be able to match basic pitch, and hopefully sing harmony. Please email for more information.

Westminster Ringers

The Westminster Ringers is our handbell choir and performs in worship and outside ministry events in the community. The choir rings 3 octaves of Schulmerich handbells and interested ringers should be able to read basic music and/or have a good counting ablility. The rehearsal time for the Westminster Ringers is on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. Please email for more information. No experience in handbells is necessary, but potential ringers should be able to do basic music reading.

Celebration Singers

The Celebration Singers is our children’s choir for grades 1-6. This group rehearses on Sunday morning in the handbell room (next to the choir room) from 9:30-9:50am before Sunday School. The Celebration Singers sing in our worship services several times each year and will perform a musical in the spring of 2009. In choir, music fundamentals are taught as well as concepts of music in worship and hymnody. Please email for more information.

Cherub Choir

The Cherub Choir is our preschool choir for ages 3-5. This group rehearses on Sunday mornings
from 9:30 to 9:50am downstairs across from the nursery. Music fundamentals of pitch and rhythm as well as learning to use our voices to sing are taught each week in Cherub Choir. This group also sings in worship a few times each year and performs special programs such as a Christmas Music/Drama. Please email for more information.

Youth Music Ministry

Last year it was our privilege to work with the youth of Westminster in presenting the musical “Celebrate Life”. It is our hope to be able to do another outstanding project in the spring of 2009. More information will be forthcoming!
